Go North is a project by the “Go Public” seminar, developed by the digital media department of Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, Germany. Its objective is the reclamation of the public space as a site of cultural place, encounter and play by artistic means. Outside the comforting realms of the white cube, new locations are being examined, experimented with and transformed into temporary exhibition spaces.
For the 700IS Reindeerland festival 2014 nine media artists from Karlsruhe will present their works, several of them being prepared during their travel from Reykjavik to Egilsstaðir. The artists therefore are interested in the experiment to react to the inspiration given by the experience in Iceland and offer their artistic interpretation within their performances, sound sculptures, films and installations to the audience at the site.
Artists: Lena Zwerina, Mara Ittel, Max Negrelli, Jan Cordes, Brice Clocher, Greta Hoffmann, Lukas Rehm, Victor van Wetten and Eva Franz.
