Installation “digitie” – Ars Electronica 2009

Die Installation digitie von Marianne Schmidt, Studierende des Fachbereichs Medienkunst/Infoart, wird auf der Ausstellung 80 plus 1 gezeigt. Die 80 plus 1 Ausstellung findet im Rahmen der Ars Electronica vom 17. Juni bis 5. September 2009 in Linz statt. Die insgesamt 15 Kunstprojekte, die dort gezeigt werden, wurden aus 295 Einreichungen aus 42 Ländern ausgewählt. Grundvoraussetzung für die Berücksichtigung der Jury war die künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit Live-Bits, was digitale Informationen sind, die in Echtzeit übertragen werden. ‘digitie’ ist eine Apparatur, die Menschen an unterschiedlichen Orten die Möglichkeit bietet, mittels Handgesten miteinander zu kommunizieren und neue Formen der Verständigung zu entwickeln. Die Installation ist vom 24.08.2009 bis 08.09.2009 im temporären Ausstellungspavillion am Hauptplatz Linz und dem Ars Electronica Center zu sehen. Marianne Schmidt wurde 1983 in Russland geboren und studiert seit 2005 an der HfG Karlsruhe Medienkunst.

The installation digitie from Marianne Schmidt, student of the department Media Art / Infoart, is shown on the exhibition 80 plus 1. The 80 plus 1 exhibition takes place within the scope of the Ars Electronica from the 17th of June to the 5th of September 2009 in Linz. A total of 15 art projects which are shown there were selected from 295 submissions from 42 countries. Basic condition for the consideration of the jury was the artistic examination with Live-Bits which are digital information transferred on a real-time basis. ‘digitie’ is a gadget which offers people at different places the possibility to communicate by means of hand gesticulation with each other and to develop new forms of understanding. The installation is to be seen by the 8/24/2009 to 9/8/2009 in the temporary exhibitionpavilion in the main square Linz and the Ars Electronica Centre. Marianne Schmidt was born in 1983 in Russia and studies Media Art since 2005 at the HfG Karlsruhe.
